In your role as a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our customer processes and further enhancing our customer experience.

What you are going to do

With your solution-oriented and proactive mindset, you will translate business issues into data science solutions. You will bring AI solutions into production to create real value for our future business. Researching and applying new technologies in the mortgage domain will be a significant part of your role. For that we use LLMs (OpenAI) and other AI services. Collaborating with colleagues from other teams in the mortgage domain, you will ensure these solutions become integral to the customer journey. For the implementation you also have to integrate the models in the cloud stack we use (Azure and AWS).

You understand how to assist colleagues from the business in translating their needs into AI solutions and, most importantly, enjoy presenting your solutions to the business and aiding in AI adoption.

Who you are

You are results-oriented and take pride in delivering code projects for the business, with a strong focus on the further adoption of our AI solutions. Your open-mindedness and communication skills greatly contribute to this. Additionally, you should have:

A bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, IT, or a related field with a strong Data Science component
At least 1 year of experience developing real-world applications
Designing and delivering AI Solutions, with a focus on foundation models and large language models. Experience in natural language processing (NLP) desirable
Practical knowledge of the data science process, including data collection, data processing, model evaluation, and implementation
Experience In using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and their AI services
Proficiency in Python and experience with consuming and developing Python REST APIs
Experience with JavaScript and training ML models is a plus
Demonstrate a growth mindset to understand users’ business processes and challenges
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Proficiency in the Dutch language is a plus

Who you will work with

You will work in a team with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and a Product Manager who keenly captures business needs and requirements. Together, you will collaborate on developing data and AI solutions that enhance services for customers and colleagues, making them better, faster, and easier to use. Your team will closely collaborate with other product teams within the mortgage domain to integrate your AI solutions into the customer journey.

Additionally, you will be a member of the Data Science guild, where approximately 70 Data Scientists from across Nationale-Nederlanden come together. Here, you will exchange knowledge and experiences with peers. We believe that every Data Scientist can learn from others in the community and vice versa, accelerating your development and delivering maximum value with our AI solutions.
